Most of Colorado has a mountain climate with hot summer days and cold winters with snow. Thunderstorms occur in spring and summer with most rainfall during July and August, and most rain falls in the mountains. Humidity is low throughout the year. The state receives a large amount of hail during the year, mostly during spring.
